Picking Strawberries

Field trips were always my favorite as a kid.
And it's fun now to be going on my kids' field trips!
Carter's class took a trip to a local strawberry patch this week.
And, bonus...Josh got to come with us because
he doesn't have class on Fridays this semester! Yay!

Kate and Carter had their buckets and got right to work.
Hudson joined right in, too. The strawberries there looked great...lots of bright red ones, ranging from really big to really tiny, like the one he's showing me here.
Josh and Mollie grabbing some, too.
I love that Stephanie has been one of Carter's teachers this year!
It's been fun to get to do all this fun stuff with a dear friend.
And her daughter Abby is in our friend Amy's class and
they had arranged to do the same field trip! Fun for them to be together.
I adore these little people.
Another treat: Josh and his friend Benjamin Quinn,
who he works with up at the seminary.
Benjamin's daughter is in the same class as Abby, so his family was out there too.
It's getting heavy!
Almost FIVE pounds of strawberries coming home with us! Delicious : )
And all for only about $8!!
Afterwards, we went to Rolesville Park to play and have a picnic lunch.
Mollie's first-ever taste of a strawberry, fresh from the vine.
She's not sure she likes it.
Carter and Mrs. Courtney. What a blessing to have had two wonderful, godly ladies pouring into him this year. They have set the bar high! I love that he gets so excited to go to school every week, and I know that is in large part due to the quality of his teachers.
We sure are going to miss them when the year is over!!
Consensus: GREAT field trip!!
