Goal!!

Kate has been playing soccer this spring. She's never done any kind of organized sport before, so this was new for all of us. It's worked out great though! She really enjoys it, and the whole family has fun going to see her games. Her team is the Thunderbirds, pictured below, and no, she is not that much taller than all the rest of the team. They just had all the other tall ones seated for the picture. She looks like she towers over the rest of them!
She plays on Saturdays through mid-May. Each game is 1.5 hours, with the first half of the time being fun drills to work on/learn ball skills.
The second half they break up into smaller groups and play!

You'd think that with it being mid-spring, it'd be lovely weather. Not so much this week's game. For some reason, the fields at Heritage are like a wind tunnel. And it was on the verge of pouring rain, and pretty much freezing cold.
But Kate's cheering section was not to be deterred!
Plus, we had an extra special guest with us...Mimi!!
The boys had fun playing with their new parachute guys that Mimi brought them.
Ready...3,2,1...Thunderbirds!!
Kate scored her first ever GOAL! It was so exciting...she gave me the biggest, beaming smile from mid-field. (especially exciting for me since I played soccer for two years in high school and never scored a goal)
So sad that Josh missed it : (
