Yet another thing I've loved about Classical Conversations this year: they do a Field Day to celebrate the end of the year! I remember doing that very same thing so many years in elementary and middle school, and how much fun it was! Kate enjoyed her first-ever Field Day at Rolesville Park, and we all had lots of fun cheering her on.
Beautiful.
Could she be any sweeter?!
Taking it all in
I think my favorite thing about this day was how simple it was. There were 8 stations of traditional games and they rotated through them with their class from the year. Only 4 of the 9 girls in Kate's class were there, but they sure did enjoy themselves!
and jumprope
(which I had to smile at the way the girls were jumping along with the jumpers,
even when it was not their turn!)
But even more importantly, Josh and I were so encouraged to see Kate continue to give her best effort at each event, even though a lot of them she'd never tried before. She didn't win anything, but came really close each time. I have to admit that we were both disappointed for her, really wanting her to win one of the events. But she had the best attitude about it, and we were so grateful to see that in her!
Then, after pizza, they all played at the playground. Look at big brother helping his little sister swing. I love seeing how my kids look out for each other. Not that they do it all the time, but more often than not, they really do try and take care of each other. A blessing to see.
Kate and her teacher, Mrs. Melinda. She adored her! There is something so special as a parent when another adult in their lives genuinely loves on them and invests in them.
A fun-filled day that won't soon be forgotten!
