Changes

Mollie has been our first 'paci-baby'. She's only had it in her crib for naps and bedtime for well over a year now, but it was looming in the back of our minds that we'd need to be done with even that pretty soon. My vague thought was whenever we moved her into a big-girl bed, we'd say bye-bye to paci at the same time.

Well, then we went to Florida on vacation a few weeks ago.

And forgot to bring the paci with us.

So, a big change for Mollie...

She was very concerned the first night there about where it was, asking for it over and over. We kept telling her we didn't have it. So, she went cold-turkey without it and did fine sleeping all week long. And, speaking of sleeping...we had traveled down with our portable crib, but once we got to the beach, we decided to have her sleep on a mattress on the floor in the boys room. First time ever that she hasn't slept in a crib or pack'n'play!

Another big change, but she did so well!!

Our first night home was pitiful, partially because I think Mollie just assumed she'd have her paci at home, and was distraught when it wasn't in her bed.

(We took it out as soon as we got back home).

She kept crying "Where paci? Where paci?"

So sad...Josh and I really debated just giving it to her, but are glad we didn't.

Change is not always easy, but many times it is for the best...

Mollie's crib converts to a toddler bed, and because she did so well sleeping all week in Florida, we went ahead and took her rail off. Happy girl!!

And...another big change...we officially began potty-training!

She's doing really well with it so far, and I'm so thankful.

The highlight for Mollie was getting to wear big-girl panties!

She thoroughly checked them out all morning...

Even experimenting with how to put them on and take them off...never mind having multiple pairs on at the same time, haha : )

Big changes for our girl in a short period of time...

and she's taken it all in stride!

Every time she is successful, she says "I big girl!!"
