Yikes

So, this doesn't happen everyday.
Yes, that's our front yard. With a car in it.

About 7am, the kids and I were sitting in the living room while I fed Mollie her bottle. All of a sudden, we heard this really loud noise outside.
When I looked out the window, this is what I saw!?!
Oh my word! What do you DO when this happens?!
I had no idea, so here's what I did.
I chucked Mollie at Kate and ran back to get dressed while frantically searching for the phone (which, incidentally, spent the night outside in the backyard...
thankfully it didn't rain last night!)
No one came out of the car for the first couple minutes, and all kinds of things were running through my head. And of course, my kids were plastered to the storm door with their mouths hanging open. Next thing we know, a teenage boy comes crawling up out of the door, shortly followed by another.
I asked if I could call anyone for them, and if they were ok!?
They said they were sorry, and one of their dads was on the way.
And amazingly, neither one had a scratch anywhere on them.
The Wake Forest Power people came within 5 minutes to help. And the mom and dad showed up shortly thereafter, and then Josh got back from his meeting.
Can you imagine pulling up on that...
"Sooo, hey guys. What's going on?"
Wow.
Turns out that the driver was trying to get to school early to ask his girlfriend to the prom. He had made a poster, which had fallen over in the backseat, and he was reaching back to stand it up and jumped the curb. There is a steel cable wire in our yard that supports the power pole, and when his car jumped the curb, it basically drove up the cable until it flipped on it's side.
Amazing that no one was hurt, and nothing bad happened.
Praise the Lord.
As the day has gone on, I've imagined plenty worse that could have happened, and am so thankful to God for His protection.
Hopefully tomorrow morning will be less eventful : )

Wow. That is incredible!!!

But, really, what has me wondering...asking his girlfriend to the prom? When I was in high school, you didn't have to ask your significant other...lol

Praise the Lord everyone was safe!
