Canada, eh?

Josh had the amazing opportunity to go to Canada last weekend! Neither of us have ever been that far north, so this was exciting for this reason, and many others.
He was invited to travel up with a group of seminary professors and students to be a part of the first annual "Paideia Gathers" conference, which brought together an eclectic mix of theologians, businessmen, students, artists and writers
from all different areas of Canada and the US.
It's crazy to think that he was hanging out with people who have written books
that are currently on our bookshelf!
And, as a bonus, also hanging out with some of his closest and dearest friends and mentors.

Here are most of the guys that went from Southeastern:
Josh said it was a whole new kind of cold up there. And so much snow!! Everywhere they looked it was white. They stayed near Lake Erie, which was largely frozen!?

They were staying just outside of Toronto, so they were close enough to go see Niagara Falls one afternoon. Josh was a little surprised to see how commercialized it was, but was blown away by the sheer beauty of it.
It's as tall as a 13-story building,
and it was so cold that the water was full of huge chunks of ice.
He also said it was LOUD!!
All in all, a great trip.
Short, but great.
I think they logged about 29 hours on the road roundtrip.
(And yes, they drove up there in the end of February, in the midst of a huge snowstorm. Yikes.)
But well worth it.
He came home both challenged and encouraged.
Challenged in the areas of spiritual formation;
encouraged by men who have thought long and hard about
how the Gospel affects all of life.
