Let me just apologize upfront about this post. I've intended to post sooner than this, but things kept coming up and then another day would have passed by. So, because of that, this post is now going to be pretty big because there's a lot I want to share. Sorry!
Josh has been playing intramural flag football this fall (his team is called 'Aches and Pains'...pretty funny!). It's been fun for him, and he was particularly excited to play this game we went to because it was his first after his surgery. His doctor cleared him to play only two weeks after his appendectomy, which I wouldn't have believed had I not gone to the appointment with him to ask that specific question myself :)
It was a brisk fall morning so Josh's cheering section was all huddled up. Here is a sweet picture of the kids cheering for their daddy.
Andi and Nathan Knight hosted a fall cookout at their house on Wilde Acres Farm yesterday. They used to lead a small group with the Lyons, but are now in a small group with Page and Joey Craft preparing for their church plant in Washington DC next year. The Lyon/Carson small group was there at the cookout as well as the Robinsons and Team Reed :) It could not have been a more perfect fall day...the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The kids had a blast running around.

Some of you may remember an earlier post where we went to hang out with Andi and the kids got to see one of the horses that lives on the farm. Yesterday we got to meet another horse, Cocoa, that lives out there. Kate and Carter were quite interested! You can't quite tell in this picture, but the whole time Carter was up on Josh's shoulders, he was kind of mindlessly playing with Josh's ears. So cute to me. And isn't the blue of that sky just amazing?!

Funny story. Josh was going to ride on Cocoa for a minute but the horse took one look at him and turned away. We were guessing maybe it was because of his height? Whatever it was, the horse was pretty clear that Josh was not going for a ride! Kate did wind up getting a ride though, which was very exciting for her!!

Here is a moment in time from our day today. Kate picked up my camera off the kitchen table and snapped this while I was cutting Josh's hair. It may not be the best picture, technically speaking, but I just wanted to share it because it captured a very mundane Monday moment in our home.

Here's our little ballerina! There is a dance studio in the Factory and Kate has been wanting to take ballet for several months. We went to check out a class today and she loved it!

And I've saved the most exciting news of this past week for last...We've been potty training Carter! Woo-hoo!! We're well on the road to only having one in diapers :) He's done great...had his fair share of accidents at the beginning of the week, but by day 4 really seemed to have the hang of it. I'm sure that's probably TMI, but we are so proud of him! He got to go to Target and pick out what kind of 'big boy' underwear he wanted...of course he picked Elmo. Here he is checking himself out in the mirror...cracking me up as usual!

I had to shield Laney's eyes from Carter struting his stuff in his underoos! Just kidding-- Hee-hee!
Great post! I can't wait to talk to you about potty training Laney. I can't wait!! Bye-bye cloth diapers!
Hey Jacelyn!
I LOVE your mundane pic! Nice to know I'm not the only wifey who gets to cut her hubby's hair! And, WOW on PTing Carter! That's so awesome! Can I send Seth up to ya?!
