4th of July

We invited our small group to come over for coffee and donuts

before the annual Wake Forest Children's Parade.

Nothing says Happy 4th of July like 5 dozen donuts!

Ready to ride! She was so excited, especially because we didn't make it to last year's parade.

The aftermath. Looking like a daycare!

We came in and rested after a fun morning, then headed back out to the Meekins for a cook-out. We did it last year right before the Martins were leaving, and were thrilled that they would invite us to come back this year (plus the Martins were back! Awesome!) The weather got a little iffy, so we didn't get to do all the fun games from last year, like the donut-eating contest, or the sack race, or the water balloon toss.

But we cooked and ate and hung out and it was really fun.

And the kids thoroughly enjoyed the slip-n-slide!

Daisies

Josh went to run an errand the other day, and came back with this bouquet of daisies for me!

The perfect summertime arrangement...bright and fresh and pretty.

What a thoughtful thing for my hubby to do!

And little eyes were watching, as they always are.

When Josh arrived home with these in hand, Carter greeted him with a question,

"Who are those for?"

Josh told him they were for me.

He thought about it for a second, smiled, and nodding his head, said "Nice."

There is no one else in this world that I would rather have

training up my boys in how to love their (future) wives.

Hudson's 3rd Birthday

Hudson is 3...not sure how that can possibly be already?!

We celebrated with dinner at Milton's (his choice, a good one I might add!)...

...birthday cake (big brother wanted to decorate it for him)...

...with the birthday boy adding the final touches...

...a visit from Mimi...

...presents...

...and skyping with Nen and Pa.

Cowboy Camp

Our county has a great parks and rec department, with lots of fun options for the kids! We signed the boys up to do a week-long art camp.

Hudson looks sad here, but he's just kidding...

He had a blast! You can tell by looking at his shirt... ; )

The theme of the camp was "Cowboys"...perfect for my boys.

And they made all kinds of cool stuff...
