Mollie at 6 months

Wow...six months...to say it's been a whirlwind would be an understatement! But boy do we LOVE our Mollie Gage!! What a sweet gift from the Lord.

I took her for her check-up today. Praise God for a great report...healthy little girl from head to toe : ) She weighs 15lb 13 oz and is 27 1/4 in. (50% for weight and 93% for height!?!)

Mollie is a sweet little baby, generally very content. She loves people and especially loves her brothers and big sister. They always want to play with her, and everyday Kate and Carter both ask to hold her. Hudson asks occasionally, but mostly just loves to smile at and laugh with her. He still will not say Mollie, but calls her "Bebe".

She's sleeping pretty good. Right now we're transitioning her into her crib in Kate's room. Hoping to stretch her from waking up at 5am to waking up at 7am with the rest of the kiddos! She's not a fan of baby food. We've been trying to give her baby cereal for about 3 weeks now, and she just about spits every bit of it out. We've mixed in baby fruits, tried both rice and oatmeal, even tried just plain baby fruits and she still wants no part of it. The Dr. said today to just keep trying, so that's what we'll do.

But being on her back is not so bad....that way she can reach her #1 toy...her feet!

Can you see what Mollie's doing here?! Pushing up on all-fours!? Who is this kid? She's been doing this off and on for the last week or so. But today, even a couple hours after I took this picture, she had done it again, except this time had pulled her knees up under her and was ROCKING!?! She's gonna crawl soon, which will be the earliest of any of ours, by far. This mama is not really ready for all that yet. Crazy.

Halloween 2010

When Mom was up here in May, the kids begged for her to come up for Halloween this year. She agreed (who could resist such a request?!) and we're so thankful she did! At the time, we had no idea how busy that week would be for our family, with Josh and Kate both being in the White's wedding, and all the activities leading up to it. It was such a huge help to have Mimi here to help juggle everything, plus we had FUN!!

Mollie wasn't excited about getting her picture taken. Also, since I'm so behind with the blog these days, I think this is the first picture of her sitting up! She's getting so big so fast. : (

Mr. and Mrs. Justin White

The day we've been waiting for finally arrived!! After a whirlwind engagement, Justin and Rachel got married last weekend! It has been so sweet to walk this out with them, and to witness what God has done in each of them through the journey.

Carter LOVES Mr. Justin, and has ever since we met him when we first moved up here.

Rachel had asked Kate to be her flower girl, and she was elated!! The morning of the wedding, she woke up cheering "Mommy! Mommy! Today is the day! Today is the wedding!!" And it could not have been a more gorgeous day...

Carter lost interest midway through and made it his business to figure out if the grass was real or not.

Awww...aren't they so sweet and happy?! They've said people have kidded them about looking like Barbie and Ken. Pretty accurate, I'd say : )

I love this friendship so much. Josh does, too. They're more like brothers...

Josh has such a tender heart, which is one of the things I love most about him. He was pretty much a wreck every time he looked at Kate and imagined his little girl getting married someday. I love the way he loves her.

This wedding was such a beautiful portrait of the gospel and the love of Christ...what a joy and an honor to be a part of it!!

Washington DC

We have been wanting to take a family trip to DC to visit our good friends the Knights and the Crafts ever since they moved up there last year to plant Restoration Church. We finally made it up there this year to kick off our Fall Break, and was it ever worth the wait! (Plus it was nice to be able to travel for a Fall Break...it was our first one since we've been at SEBTS that Josh hasn't been recovering from some sort of surgery!)

We had the best time visiting with them, and hearing all the awesome things the Lord has been doing in DC! Joey, Page and Sayde were so generous to open their home to us. Thanks so much Crafts!! No small feat hosting a family of six : )

She gave Mollie one too...we won't have to wait too much longer for her to actually be able to wear it because her hair is really growing in!!

We rode over to the National Mall to meet up with Nathan, Andi and Judah Knight. We packed a picnic and hung until the sun went down. There had been a rally earlier in the day, with 175,000 people all over the lawn, but we timed it just right and got there about 45 minutes after it was over. The kids could run and play, and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Kate learned about George Washington leading up to our trip, so she was excited to see the Washington Monument!

I think we may have a future history buff on our hands. Kate LOVED seeing all this cool stuff we'd been talking and learning about. In fact, on the car ride home, she was most disappointed that we didn't get to go to any museums while we were up there. Gives us another great reason to go back soon!

We also read a children's biography on Abraham Lincoln before we went. Kate was super disappointed that we didn't get to see the Lincoln Memorial up close because that was the site of the rally and we didn't go down that far. But here's a shot of it as we were leaving at dusk. If you look really closely, you'll see a white dot right in the middle of the picture. That's the statue of Abraham Lincoln.

On Sunday, we got to go worship with Restoration Church! First time in their new building, which was exciting! Nathan and Joey had asked Josh to lead worship for the service. Our friends Josh and Paige Williams (they're in our small group) were also in DC for the weekend. Josh W. is a super talented musician, so they teamed up and did a GREAT job. I was kidding my Josh that they could be the next Shane & Shane...Josh & Josh has a nice ring to it : )

Hudson and Judah were fast friends. I love this picture of them from after the service. Judah is telling Hudson something that is obviously hilarious.
